Get Active in Darebin this Spring

Get Active in Darebin is a FREE community-based exercise program aimed at increasing the physical activity and wellbeing levels of Darebin residents, as well as engaging under-represented groups into physical activity.

Darebin Community Sports Stadium and Narrandjeri Stadium in partnership with the City of Darebin encourages everyone to get active – so if you’re on a tight budget and are looking for free exercise options – come and join our FREE programs with Get Active in Spring!

Most activities are catered for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and facilitated by qualified instructors and coaches. Bring your own water, towels and a mat (if required) and join in on the fun – just register below so we know how many of you are coming to each activity!

Walking Basketball

Walking Basketball is a low impact, social and fun way to improve your levels of physical activity. It is great for those who love basketball but might be intimidated by the pace and impact of the traditional game, offering a slower and more social alternative. All ages, abilities and genders are welcome. Finish with a social game and a cuppa.

Golden Oldies Badminton

Join us for a casual hit of Badminton to see what the fun is all about in the Golden Oldies program! Specifically for those aged over 50. All equipment provided (or you can bring your own).

Kinder Tennis

Kinder Tennis has two 30 minute indoor sessions for children aged 3 – 5. It introduces the basics of tennis through fun games that build skills such as throwing, catching, balancing, moving and hitting a tennis ball. Maximum 8 per session. All equipment provided. Must bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes.

Disability Tennis

Join us for All Abilities Tennis! Sessions are tailored for everyone including wheelchair tennis users, para-standing athletes, or people looking for an inclusive and adaptive environment to enjoy the game. Led by experienced coaches in a supportive and accessible setting, sessions focus on skill development, fitness and fun while building confidence and community through tennis. New and returning players welcome. All equipment provided.

QSA Q-League Pickleball

Join us for social Q league pickleball hosted by Queer Sporting Alliance at Narrandjeri Stadium’s outdoor courts. Pickleball – the racket sport which combines tennis, badminton and table tennis and is played on a smaller court, is a fun way to get active and connect with others. Games are beginner-friendly, so everyone can participate at their own pace. All equipment provided.
