IDAHOBIT stands for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia. But what does all this mean?
Minority sexuality and gender identities, and people who are intersex, can face negative attitudes, stereotypes and prejudices that lead to discrimination, exclusion, harassment and violence. IDAHOBIT Day is held on the 17th of May each year around the world in over 130 countries to recognise and celebrate the LGBQTIA+ community and to build a world free from discrimination.
Celebrate IDAHOBIT 2023 with us
Come and join us at Narrandjeri Stadium for a fun party vibe with Queer Sporting Alliance and a basketball training session to celebrate IDAHOBIT Day. Never played before basketball before? This is THE best time to come & try out basketball in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
We’ll also be sharing a great video piece from Minus 18 and local DJ Mon Franco from the Darebin LGBQTIA+ community will be pumping the tunes and party vibes from 7.30pm onwards.
