In a positive intersection of public art and architecture, Narrandjeri Stadium houses a major new integrated art commission by esteemed Melbourne artist, Esther Stewart.
Stewart is considered one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists and using her signature geometric style, has designed and developed a permanent integrated artwork for the large bank of glass window areas of the entry and café, as well as a large-scale wall-based artwork for the interior foyer space at Narrandjeri Stadium.
Stewart’s site-specific pieces include integrated glass and interior works that respond to the unique light, space and architecture of Narrandjeri Stadium. The result is a spectacular immersion through colour and light that responds continuously to the environmental conditions of the building – and is a delight to watch the colours dance and change throughout the day.
